Rallymaster III x Where Time Meets Tennis

Maurice de Mauriac and Racquet introduce the Rallymaster III. The third edition of their tennis inspired wristwatch collaboration designed by Carlton DeWoody. The new iteration features an olive-green dial reminiscent of traditional lawn tennis courts. Also, incorporates 18k rose gold components for the first time in the series, for a slightly more sophisticated approach.

The Rallymaster III pairs classic retro details with modern tennis world cues.

MAURICE DE MAURIAC x CARLTON DEWOODY

Designed by Carlton DeWoody, a Los Angeles-based creative best known for interior design, the Rallymaster III also draws inspiration from uniquely graphic watch dials of the 60s & 70s. Maurice de Mauriac and Racquet connected with DeWoody because his passion for tennis and deep knowledge of vintage timepieces made him the ideal collaborator for a capsule collection. “I aimed to bridge past and present, reinterpreting classic design with a contemporary lens”, DeWoody explains. “I have an affinity for vintage chronographs, often seeking out references with unusual patterns, typefaces and other graphic details. The colorful sub-dials and patterning of yachting and racing dials were the perfect inspiration for the partnership”.

RALLYMASTER III: THE LAUNCH PARTY AT WIMBLEDON

Grass is the original tennis surface, and the celebrated British summer grass court season is
composed of a series of events leading to the most ancient and prestigious of the four Grand
Slam tournaments. And it is in the Wimbledon neighborhood that the new Maurice de Mauriac x Racquet Rallymaster III timepiece was unveiled.

Sparkling PR played a pivotal role in the event, diligently negotiating coverage and editorial support to ensure the watch’s grand debut received the attention it deserved. The evening provided ample opportunities for networking. Giving our team valuable connections and bolster the Rallymaster III’s presence in the luxury watch market.

The launch party included players, ex-players, relevant media names such as Time&Tide, QP Magazine, Urban Life Magazine, Hodinkee, Racquetc, Financial Times, among others. And notable figures from both tennis and watches scene, such as Asia Muhammed and the tennis legend Stan Smith, adding an extra touch of prestige to the launch party.

The Rallymaster III is a limited edition of 100 pieces.

Maurice de Mauriac x photo basel 2024

From June 11 to 16, Basel became the epicenter of photography and art at photo basel, along with Maurice de Mauriac, who presented the Maurice de Mauriac Award for the second year in a row.

MAURICE DE MAURIAC’S AWARD WINNER

The winner of this year is Hayley Eichenbaum, represented by Homecoming Gallery. Hayley Eichenbaum is an interdisciplinary artist and director based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA. Early performative and kinetic work analyzes Western social expectations of women: How they are expected to maintain and preserve themselves.

Current digital photography work expands on notions of the veneer. The focus now on exterior architecture and curated landscape.

“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the Maurice de Mauriac Award. I look forward to using this momentum to push forward with a new series. “The Mother Road” is the original nickname for Route 66. It was the first cross-country highway in The United States: The Mother of all highways. A powerful and feminine reference.” says Hayley.

PHOTO BASEL 2024

In this year’s edition, photo basel has dedicate a special exhibition to Basel photographer Kurt Wyss. With “Eyewitness Kurt Wyss in Dialogue with Jean Dubuffet” presenting an insight into an important phase of his photographic work.

“Beyond Photography” features a curated selection of photographic positions that go far beyond photography by using various mixing techniques, special printing techniques, or shifting from the two-dimensional to the three-dimensional. Numerous different approaches contribute to an expansion of the medium of photography, and this sector dedicates itself to these innovations.

Another key point, is in the newly “novum” sector, where photo basel specifically showcases works never shown before. The “novum” positions include either completely new works or bodies of work that have only now properly brought to light.
