2025 marks a major milestone for Minase as the boutique Japanese watchmaker celebrates its 20th anniversary. At the occasion, the brand is announcing the release of a watch model featuring a “Yukihira Black Gradation Dial” from Minase popular “Seven Windows” series in a limited edition of 77 units, each individually numbered.

Born from the high-precision cutting tools company Kyowa, Minase has spent the last two decades
redefining Japanese watchmaking through exceptional craftsmanship and boundary-pushing design.

MINASE: CELEBRATING JAPAN

Since its creation in 2005, Minase has had two goals. Creating timepieces that will still be revered a
century from now. And paying tribute to their home country’s rich heritage, culture and crafts. With adeep respect for traditional techniques and an unrelenting drive to innovate, the brand has developed and mastered signature elements. Such as, the case-in-case structure or the sallaz polishing technique, earning global recognition across the world.

THE YUKIHIRA BLACK GRADATION DIAL

To honor this anniversary, Minase proudly unveils a special edition from its iconic Seven Windows
collection. The Yukihira Black Gradation Dial. A limited release of 77 pieces available on stainless steel bracelet or on handmade leather strap. This exquisite model showcases the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship through a dial created via electroforming. An intricate process that captures a subtle Yukihira (hammered snowflake-like) pattern and finishes it with a deep black gradation that reveals hints of purple under shifting light. The iconic case, with its 7 sapphire glass windows, offers a 360° view of the dial and the movement.

Every purchase includes a limited-edition leather watch case, and all the watches ordered before the end of September will come with a silver bracelet showcasing Minase’s polishing artistry.

Minase is thrilled to introduce its latest novelty, an ice blue dial and rubber bands on the Uruga Collections. Available in an exclusive 31, or 42mm case, these new executions extend the choices available in the Uruga line. Minase now offers this new elegant edition with a stainless steel 316L, leather, or rubber strap directly on its webshop.

MINASE: THE URUGA COLLECTION

The collection’s name clearly defines the brand’s novel approach. “Uruga” is an acronym of the
Japanese words Uruwashii and Myabi (pronounced “ga“) meaning respectively beauty and elegance.

Uruga represents the traditional method used to securely set gemstones into place. Minase uses a construction known as the ‘clamping case structure,’ where brushed clamps contrast beautifully with several mirror-polished surfaces. The sapphire glass sits between the bezel and the case, following the bezel’s shape with a slight vertical curvature. Clamped from below, it adds brilliance to the case while securing its water resistance. Minase specifically designed the 31mm model for ladies. It bears each and every exclusive feature of its 42mm sibling in a more elegant version with highly polished clamps. Six genuine diamonds alternate with the indexes to enhance the dial’s refined elegance.

THE DIAL: MINASE RIVER

The horizontal embossed gradation pattern of the dial is reminiscent of the waves of the Minase River, even more in this new ice blue edition. The background consists of an endless array of interlacing lines symbolizing infinity. Until today, Uruga was available on stainless steel 316L and leather bands. It is now also offered on a white or black rubber band.

Visible through the sapphire crystal case back and securely attached to the case with 6 screws, a high- end Swiss ETA 2892 movement powers the 42mm timepiece. Minase equips the 31mm model with the ETA 2671, a small and precise mechanical movement. And customizes its rotor just like in the larger version.

With its power reserve indicator positioned to the front, the wearer is reminded when it is necessary to wind the watch, a daily ritual beloved by purists. A defining creation within the 1902 collection, offered in two luminous and refined shades. Silver or 4N Gold colour. The power reserve indicator serves as an aide-memoire, reminding the wearer to pause, momentarily escape the frenetic pace of daily life, and spend a few seconds manually energising the mainsprings.

In fact, the artisans at SCHWARZ ETIENNE developed and crafted this piece in their workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The 1902 RÉSERVE DE MARCHE captures the delicate balance between watchmaking mastery and enduring elegance. Inspired by the great tradition of pocket watches, its hand-wound movement pays tribute to the noblest roots of fine watchmaking.

The MSE 311.00 calibre owes its exceptional 120-hour chronometric autonomy to a reworked balance. Designed to optimise the performance of its two barrels, mounted in parallel. Every detail
of its construction speaks to an uncompromising pursuit of excellence. Six bridges with hand polished angles, concave jewel countersinks and a finely sandblasted mainplate, finished with rhodium plating.

SCHWARZ ETIENNE: HARMONIOUS DESIGN, A BOLD SIGNATURE

Evidently, the dial reveals the watch’s full balance, a subtle yet confident aesthetic that draws on the brand’s heritage. It captures timeless elegance and echoes the spirit of SCHWARZ ETIENNE: a living bridge between cultural legacy and watchmaking excellence.

Finally, designed for both men and women, this creation is the result of meticulous care, guided by passion and unwavering standards. The watch is presented on a rubber-lined alligator strap, available in a choice of colours. A Grade 5 titanium pin buckle secures the watch to the wrist, completing the elegant ensemble.
