ONE DAY IN COMPORTA by Kinda
© José Campos
Following the visit to the very secluded Craveiral Farmhouse, Kinda continues exploring the hidden gems along the Portuguese Atlantic coast. This time, we travel all the way south to Comporta. At a time when this little piece of paradise has been over-exploited; the Portuguese home decor brand decided to go back to a simpler time, when Comporta was just Comporta.
Formerly dubbed the “Saint Tropez of the 50s” by the New York Times; Comporta has become a hippie-chic destination coveted by many international celebrities; such as Christian Louboutin, Philip Starck and many others.
But Comporta is, above all; a fishermen’s village, a protected natural reserve and one of the last remnants of Portuguese authenticity. It started out as a huge family farm; which 30 years ago sparkled the interest of a calm-seeking and nature-loving group of people.
The beauty and magic of Comporta served as inspiration for this summer collection by Kinda. The “Comporta Chic” style can be defined as a harmonious mesh of materials, textures and colors, which favors a minimalist; natural and organic style and represents Comporta in its original form: unpretentious and uncomplicated.
