A Look Inside the GPHG’s 2025 Edition

Geneva reaffirmed its status as the epicentre of fine watchmaking on 13 November 2025, as the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève marked its 25th edition. Celebrating contemporary watchmaking art with an evening dedicated to passion and mechanical mastery. Hosted at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices and presented with charm and elegance by Antoine de Caunes, the ceremony honored the industry’s most exceptional creations and the individuals shaping the future of horology.

A MILESTONE EDITION IN HOROLOGY

This landmark ceremony was the culmination of a wider programme that placed the spotlight on watchmaking culture throughout the autumn. Ahead of the awards night, the GPHG Foundation inaugurated the Geneva stage of its 2025 World Tour at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, the natural home for an exhibition celebrating the art of contemporary watchmaking.

Visitors were invited to explore grandes complications, jewelry masterpieces, artistic craft creations, innovative clocks, iconic models and more accessible watches, offering a rare opportunity to discover the year’s most compelling timepieces gathered in one place.

Alongside the exhibition, the GPHG reinforced its cultural mission through a rich outreach programme. Guided expert tours and watchmaking workshops led by the Geneva School of Watchmaking. Educational afternoons for secondary school students to explore watchmaking culture. Activities for younger visitors, including engraving experiences and sundial-building workshops run by the Musée International d’Horlogerie. A thematic talk organised by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie on historically significant timepieces and more.

GPHG 2025: EXCELLENCE ACROSS 19 CATEGORIES

The awards recognized 19 exceptional creations that reflect the industry’s technical prowess and artistic diversity. Among the standout winners were:

This year’s Special Jury Prize was awarded to Alain Dominique Perrin. Acknowledging his visionary role in elevating and promoting high-quality watchmaking.

At the centre of the ceremony, the GPHG Jury awarded the coveted “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix to Breguet for the Classique Souscription 2025. A watch that embodies the maison’s ongoing pursuit of balance between heritage, precision and modern craftsmanship, it was celebrated as the defining creation of the year.

A RESOUNDING TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF TIME

Marking 25 years of passion, creativity and craftsmanship, the 2025 GPHG has reaffirmed its essential role as both a global showcase and a guardian of watchmaking excellence. By bringing together established maisons, independent creators, students, collectors and the wider public, it highlights a shared culture.

As the award-winning timepieces go on display in Geneva and later at Dubai Watch Week, the legacy of this anniversary edition continues: a vibrant tribute to the art that measures, structures and inspires our perception of time.
